Your music. Your business.
Effective October 7, 2026
The short version. TNZ has no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and we never sell your data. TNZ doesn’t record or keep your audio. Your history, map and memories stay on your devices and your own iCloud. The few things that reach our servers are anonymous song counts and, if you make one, your smart link.
This policy explains how TNZ: Identify Any Song (“TNZ”), made by Stadium Status Records (“we”, “us”), handles information when you use the app and this website.
1. Listening and identifying songs
When you tap Identify, TNZ uses your microphone to listen. Songs are identified by Apple’s ShazamKit service, which receives an audio signature, not a recording, to find a match. TNZ does not record, store or send your audio to us. Listening only happens when you start it, or while Keep Identifying (TNZ Pro) is on, which you start and stop yourself and which shows on your Lock Screen while active.
2. Song details, artists and press
To show a song’s story, credits, artist and press, TNZ requests public information from music catalogs and news and search services, including Apple, Deezer, MusicBrainz, Wikidata and Wikipedia, Google News, Bing, DuckDuckGo, GDELT and Hype Machine. These requests contain the song’s title, artist and catalog identifiers, not anything about you. As with any internet request, these services receive your device’s IP address and handle it under their own privacy policies. Articles you open are shown inside TNZ in Safari, subject to each website’s policies.
3. TNZ’d counts and the TNZ Chart
When you find a song, TNZ sends the song’s title, artist, cover link and catalog identifiers to our server, together with a random code created when TNZ is installed. The code lets us count each song once per install per day, so the counts and charts stay fair. It is not linked to your name, your Apple Account or any other information about you, and the record of which code counted which song is deleted after about two days. Song totals are shown to everyone as TNZ’d counts and in the TNZ Chart.
4. Smart links (TNZ Pro)
Smart links are made with FLYer Social Smart Links, operated by us at getflyer.app. When you publish one, we store the song’s details, the address you choose, your look and styling choices, and a random code for your device so only that device can style its new link. Smart link pages are public: anyone with the link can view them. We count page views and taps on each service to keep the service running and to show totals. We don’t collect your name or contact details to make a link.
5. What stays on your device
- History and Song Map. Your finds and, if you turn on Pin songs where you find them, the place you found each song, are stored on your device. TNZ uses your location only while the app is in use and only for this feature. Your locations are never sent to us.
- Memories (TNZ Pro). Photos, videos and words you add to a song stay on your device.
- Sync (TNZ Pro). If you have TNZ Pro, your history, map and memories sync between your devices through your own private iCloud account, which Apple operates. We can’t see it.
- Song stories. Written-up stories are created on your device, using Apple’s on-device model where available. Nothing is sent to us to write them.
- Notifications. Found-song notifications are created on your device.
6. Apple services and purchases
Apple Music (optional). If you connect Apple Music, TNZ uses Apple’s MusicKit to play songs, add them to your library and show details from Apple’s catalog. This information stays with Apple and on your device. Purchases. TNZ Pro subscriptions and Lifetime are sold by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details; we only learn whether TNZ Pro is active on your device.
7. What we don’t do
- No accounts, sign-ups or profiles.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
- No selling or renting of any information.
- No analytics or tracking scripts on this website.
8. Keeping and deleting information
Deleting TNZ removes the information stored on your device. Information synced to iCloud can be removed in the Settings app under your name, iCloud, then Manage Storage. Anonymous song counts can’t be traced back to you, so they stay part of the totals. To remove a smart link, email us with its address.
9. Your choices and rights
You can turn off the microphone, location and notifications for TNZ at any time in the Settings app, and turn off listening in other apps and Song Map pinning in TNZ’s Settings. Depending on where you live, including California and the European Union, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information and to object to its use. Because TNZ is built to avoid collecting personal information, there is usually nothing about you for us to look up, but you can contact us to make any request and we’ll respond within the time the law requires.
10. Children
TNZ is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Security
Information sent between TNZ and our servers is encrypted in transit. We keep only what each feature needs, for as long as it needs it.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here with a new effective date. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
